Building Academic Preparedness for College Credit Courses (2024–25)
The Building Academic Preparedness for College Credit Courses Community of Practice is designed for secondary and postsecondary educators of college credit courses (Dual Enrollment, Early College High School, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and postsecondary educators). Participants will engage with the AVID College and Career Readiness Framework and Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading (WICOR®) strategies and learn how to utilize them to improve student readiness for college success. Participants will leverage higher-level thinking strategies to support all students while deepening their practices through the application of AVID Essential Skills. All strategies, digital activities, and digital tools experienced in this Community of Practice can be leveraged in face-to-face, blended, or virtual learning environments.
